Nearly 40 University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa programs have been recognized among the nation\u2019s best, according to the U.S. News and World Report<\/em>\u2019s 2023 Best Graduate Schools rankings<\/a>, released on March 29. This is the highest number of UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa grad programs on the list since at least 2013.<\/p>\n

The 2023 edition evaluates graduate schools on a variety of factors, including research activity, expert assessment scores, doctoral degrees awarded, acceptance rates, placement success, standardized test scores and grade-point averages of incoming students.<\/p>\n

“We are gratified that many of our graduate programs continue to receive national recognition for their excellence. Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> residents should take pride in knowing that one of the top universities in the world is located right here, educating future innovators, educators and leaders,” UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Provost Michael Bruno<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

John A. Burns School of Medicine<\/h2>\n

The state\u2019s only medical school, John A. Burns School of Medicine<\/a> (JABSOM<\/abbr>), ranked No<\/abbr>. 24 in primary care and No<\/abbr>. 74 in research out of 124 of the best medical schools in the nation. This is the third time in six years that JABSOM<\/abbr> made the top 25 for primary care (No<\/abbr>. 19 in 2016 and No<\/abbr>. 24 in 2021). JABSOM<\/abbr> also placed No<\/abbr>. 31 for percentage of 2013–15 graduates practicing in primary care specialties. Read more at JABSOM<\/abbr>‘s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nancy Atmospera-Walch School of Nursing<\/h2>\n

UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Nancy Atmospera-Walch School of Nursing<\/a>\u2019s doctor of nursing practice (DNP<\/abbr>) program was ranked No<\/abbr>. 85 among 158 schools considered in U.S. News<\/em>\u2019s Best Nursing Schools. UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Nursing is the only Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> DNP<\/abbr> program ranked by U.S. News<\/em> since 2018. UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Nursing also placed No<\/abbr>. 80 out of 199 schools for best master\u2019s nursing programs.<\/p>\n

William S. Richardson School of Law<\/h2>\n

The William S. Richardson School of Law<\/a> was ranked in 15 categories by U.S. News<\/em>. UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa\u2019s law school placed No<\/abbr>. 91 out of 192 law schools considered in the full-time law category, and No<\/abbr>. 21 out of 69 in the part-time law category for the school\u2019s evening part-time law program.<\/p>\n
