Iskander<\/strong>, University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> at M&#257;noa professor of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ee.hawaii.edu\/\">electrical engineering<\/a> and the director of the <a href=\"http:\/\/hcac.hawaii.edu\/\"><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Center for Advanced Communications<\/a>, received the 2013 Distinguished Educator Award from the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (<abbr>MTT-S<\/abbr>) of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ieeeusa.org\/\">Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers<\/a> (<abbr>IEEE<\/abbr>). The award recognizes an individual &ldquo;who must be a distinguished educator and who also has an outstanding record of research contributions, documented in archival journals.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The award will be conferred at the annual awards banquet to be held June 2&#8211;7 in Seattle, <abbr>WA<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>This award is extremely selective with only the best educators in engineering worldwide being honored. &ldquo;It is also particularly impressive that Professor Iskander also received the 2012 Chen-To-Tai Distinguished Educator Award from the <abbr>IEEE<\/abbr> Antennas and Propagation Society (<abbr>AP-S<\/abbr>) of <abbr>IEEE<\/abbr>.
