Moss is the general contractor on the project, The Wilhelm Group is the construction manager and Design Partners <abbr title=\"Incorporated\">Inc<\/abbr>. is the lead architect.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It has taken extraordinary leadership and commitment on the part of all of the key partners to collaborate in new ways so we can begin construction of the university&#8217;s first major new construction <abbr title=\"Public Private Partnership\">P3<\/abbr> project,&rdquo; said <abbr>UH<\/abbr> President <strong>David Lassner<\/strong>. &ldquo;The outpouring of support from our community validates our shared vision to build this innovative facility that will help us nurture the next generation of student entrepreneurs, who will help transform <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>&#8216;s economy.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/pace.shidler.hawaii.edu\/\">Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship<\/a>, located in <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/shidler.hawaii.edu\/\">Shidler College of Business<\/a>, will operate the entrepreneurship program at <abbr>RISE<\/abbr>, while <abbr>B.HOM<\/abbr> Student Living, which manages 28,000 beds at 24 universities in the U.S., will manage the day-to-day operations of the student housing facility.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/manoa-shidler-pace-rise-hei-entry-way-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"rendering of building\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-151435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/manoa-shidler-pace-rise-hei-entry-way-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/manoa-shidler-pace-rise-hei-entry-way-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/manoa-shidler-pace-rise-hei-entry-way.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We are thrilled to be a partner in this bold new vision of economic diversification, supporting and building a pipeline for new ventures through an entrepreneurial ecosystem that\u2019s accessible to all majors, at all campuses, across <abbr>UH<\/abbr>,&rdquo; said <strong>Vance Roley<\/strong>, dean of the Shidler College of Business. &ldquo;We are extremely grateful for the long-standing support of the business community, donors, alumni and friends who have led the way and helped us lay a solid foundation for entrepreneurship education at <abbr>UH<\/abbr>. We could not be here today without their support.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><abbr>UH<\/abbr> Foundation purchased the one-acre property on University Avenue in 2017 for $8 million. To date, $2 million has been raised from individuals, corporate and foundation donors, including Walter <abbr>A<\/abbr>. Dods <abbr title=\"Junior\">Jr<\/abbr>., Rich and Eileen Wacker, American Savings Bank, First Hawaiian Bank Foundation, Hawaiian Electric and Island Insurance Foundation. No taxpayer funds will be used for the project.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Our team is honored to play a role in the development of <abbr>RISE<\/abbr>, which has established a model for <abbr>P3<\/abbr> projects in the state of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>,&rdquo; said Steve Col&#243;n, president of Hunt&#8217;s <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Development Division. &ldquo;This <abbr>P3<\/abbr> will deliver a first-of-its-kind project that is absolutely unique in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>.
