Due to COVID-19 issues within the program and along with season-ending injuries and transfers, the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa Rainbow Warrior football team<\/a> will not be able to participate in the EasyPost Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Bowl against the University of Memphis.<\/p>\n

“We are disappointed our season has to end this way,” Head Coach Todd Graham<\/strong> said. “As competitive as we are and as much as we want to play the game, we cannot put the health and safety of our student-athletes at risk.”<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Athletics Director David Matlin<\/strong> added, “The health and safety of our student-athletes is the most important part of this decision. The recent surge in COVID-19 cases has forced us to not participate in the game. We are disappointed for our players, coaches and fans. ESPN<\/abbr> and the EasyPost Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Bowl staff did everything they could for us and we appreciate their valiant effort throughout the week. We want to thank the Memphis Tigers for making the long trip to Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>. We are disappointed we can\u2019t compete on the football field.”<\/p>\n

The EasyPost Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Bowl was scheduled for Friday, December 24 at the Clarence T.C.<\/abbr> Ching Athletics Complex. It was supposed to be UH<\/abbr>\u2019s 10th appearance in the game.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
