The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> is making it easier for Class of 2022 Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> public high students to attend a UH<\/abbr> four-year campus next fall. For academically prepared students, the UH<\/abbr> Fast Pass Initiative<\/a> offers a streamlined admissions process and in some cases conditional acceptance directly from high school.<\/p>\n

Based on each student\u2019s grade point average, UH<\/abbr> Hilo and UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span> will offer conditional letters of acceptance to their campuses, and UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa will offer a special invitation to apply. All three campuses will automatically waive the application fee and provide expedited processing of applications for Fast Pass participants.<\/p>\n

“We encourage our public school students to seriously consider Â鶹´«Ã½\u2019s<\/span> outstanding public four-year universities,” said UH<\/abbr> President David Lassner<\/strong>. “Higher education is the most powerful tool there is to advance social and economic mobility, and the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo, West Oʻahu<\/span> and M\u0101noa offer a wide range of superb and affordable programs.”<\/p>\n

“Expanding student access to college and career opportunities continues to be a top priority for the department,” said Keith Hayashi, interim superintendent, Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> State Department of Education. “The UH<\/abbr> Fast Pass initiative is a great opportunity for our hard-working seniors to explore the option of pursuing a high-quality college education right here at home.”<\/p>\n

Eligible students will begin receiving letters from UH<\/abbr> campuses outlining the UH<\/abbr> Fast Pass program and the application process in November. Students may receive multiple letters depending on their GPA<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n
