Nahua Guilloz<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo Center for Maunakea Stewardship<\/a> (CMS<\/abbr>) has appointed former Parker Ranch executive Nahua Guilloz<\/strong> as director of stewardship. In her new position, Guilloz will oversee all stewardship operations relating to UH<\/abbr> managed lands on Maunakea. <\/p>\n

Her responsibilities center on the implementation of the Maunakea Master Plan<\/a>, Maunakea Comprehensive Management Plan<\/a> and its subplans. Other duties include overseeing the regulatory requirements governing UH<\/abbr>\u2019s master lease for the Maunakea Science Reserve and UH<\/abbr>\u2019s subleases with the Maunakea Observatories. In addition, Guilloz will oversee the permitting and project review processes, cultural and natural resource stewardship programs, as well as operations at Halep\u014dhaku.<\/p>\n

“Nahua is highly qualified to lead in our stewardship and outreach efforts and we are excited and honored to have her join our team,” said Greg Chun<\/strong>, CMS<\/abbr> executive director.<\/p>\n

Guilloz has previously held executive positions involving land management, hunting and visitor operations at Parker Ranch in Waimea. She is currently the board chair for the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Island Economic Development Board, secretary and board member for New Hope Legacy and the queen coordinator for the Hawaii High School Rodeo Association.<\/p>\n

She is a lifelong resident of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Island and a graduate of Konawaena High School. Guilloz holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in business from UH<\/abbr> Hilo and a masters in business administration-accounting from Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Pacific University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
