It&#8217;s a concept that has garnered her more than 4 million views on TED Talks and has even captured the attention of the Pope.<\/p>\n<p>The live online event, &ldquo;Doughnut Economics: How circular economies can make <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> more just and sustainable,&rdquo; will be held on Thursday, October 7, at 8:30 a.m. The livestream event is open to the public. Richardson School of Law<\/a>. &ldquo;Kate\u2019s work is helping to inform these conversations around the world while we at home are looking to build on our ancestral foundation of aloha <span aria-label=\"aina\">&#699;&#257;ina<\/span>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> State Representative <strong>Amy Perusso<\/strong>, a <abbr>UH<\/abbr> alumna, underscores the importance of revamping <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\u2019s\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½\u2019s<\/span> economic model. &ldquo;Neoliberal economics has clearly failed us,&rdquo; Perusso said. &ldquo;We need a new approach grounded in ecological and communitarian principles. Raworth\u2019s work is critical in this respect, and it resonates with the <span aria-label=\"aina\">&#699;&#257;ina<\/span> aloha and circular economy work being done in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>. Rethinking our assumptions and rewriting our narratives about economics will help facilitate a similar paradigm shift in our thinking about politics.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>More on Raworth<\/h2>\n<p>Raworth is a senior associate at Oxford\u2019s Environmental Change Institute.
