The <a href=\"https:\/\/oahubacktowork.com\/\"><span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> Back to Work<\/a> initiative is sponsored by the City and County of Honolulu using federal <abbr title=\"Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security \">CARES<\/abbr> Act funds.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We want to build a more stable and equitable local economy utilizing the talents and determination of our community. We will train at least 500 residents to prepare for jobs that are available now and will serve our community,&rdquo; said <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> President <strong>David Lassner<\/strong>. &ldquo;Besides free classes, the program offers access to loaner laptops and mobile hotspots for online classes and, in some cases, paid internships. Instructors at seven <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Community Colleges and the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Outreach College will offer more than 50 classes to <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> participants.
