The ceremony featured student speakers, as well as cultural dancing and singing performed by students.<\/p>\n<p>The students had completed Student Development 100. The course is designed to educate students on how to succeed at the university level, develop a better understanding of the learning process, and acquire academic skills and knowledge essential for success in college and in life.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My questions were answered by counselors from Âé¶¹´«Ã½West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> and Leeward Community College,&rdquo; <strong>Joshua Berdon<\/strong>, an <abbr>ECE<\/abbr> student, said. &ldquo;During the course, I learned things like the expectations going to college and also scholarships.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/west-oahu-ec-3-300x193.jpg\" alt=\"Early College students on a stage\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-144949\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/west-oahu-ec-3-300x193.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/west-oahu-ec-3-130x83.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/west-oahu-ec-3.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Following the students&#8217; completion of Student Development 100, they will continue through the program in Summer Session <abbr title=\"Roman numeral two\">II<\/abbr> and take English 100E.
