University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at\u00a0Mānoa<\/a> Institutional Analyst John Stanley<\/strong> was awarded the Best Presentation at the 2012 California Association for Institutional Research<\/a> (CAIR<\/abbr>) Conference in Anaheim\/Orange County last November for his presentation, “Classification of Peer Groups from Cluster Analysis Using IPEDS<\/abbr> Data.” Stanley’s presentation was selected as “the conference’s outstanding example of a significant contribution to the practice and understanding of institutional research.”<\/p>\n

Stanley’s presentation focused on the underlying quantitative methodology (cluster analysis) used to make institutional comparisons with UH<\/abbr>\u00a0Mānoa while integrating stakeholder’s feedback. As the best presentation awardee, Stanley will receive special recognition at the 2013 CAIR<\/abbr> conference and his presentation will be featured on the CAIR<\/abbr> website.<\/p>\n

CAIR<\/abbr> is a regional chapter of the Association of Institutional Research and is dedicated to fostering of unity and cooperation among persons having interests and activities relating to institutional research in post-secondary education. The CAIR<\/abbr> Conference is an annual conference where institutional research practitioners, scholarly researchers and higher education decision makers from California and surrounding states meet to share research and learn from each other.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
