For the second consecutive year of competition, University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa senior opposite Rado Parapunov<\/strong> was named the Big West Conference\u2019s Player of the Year for 2021 as selected by the league\u2019s head coaches.<\/p>\n

Parapunov was also player of the year for 2019. There was no award in the canceled 2020 season.<\/p>\n

One week after he was selected first-team all-conference for the third time, Parapunov became the Big West\u2019s first repeat winner. In addition, he is just the second Â鶹´«Ã½player to win two conference player of the year awards joining Costas Theocharidis<\/strong>, who was the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation\u2019s honoree in 2001 and 2003.<\/p>\n

Parapunov led the Big West in kills (4.41 avg.) and points (5.24) and ranked fifth in blocks (0.90), sixth in aces (0.32), seventh in hitting percentage (.340), and 12th in digs (1.56). He earned the conference\u2019s player of the week award five times this season and a record 15 times in his career.<\/p>\n

Parapunov and the No. 1 seeded Â鶹´«Ã½men\u2019s team will play for the national title next month<\/a>.<\/p>\n
