Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year\u2019s celebration is going hybrid and AstroDay kits will be available from Friday, April 30 through Sunday, May 2 at Prince K\u016bhi\u014d Plaza in Hilo.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We\u2019re thrilled to bring back AstroDay in person in some way, and believe the hybrid nature of this year\u2019s event keeps the spirit of astronomy alive in a way that is safe and fun for everyone,&rdquo; said <strong>Carolyn Kaichi<\/strong>, event coordinator, University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa <a href=\"http:\/\/ifa.hawaii.edu\">Institute for Astronomy<\/a> (<abbr>IfA<\/abbr>).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/manoa-ifa-hilo-astroday-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"boy looking at astronomy display\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-139608\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/manoa-ifa-hilo-astroday-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/manoa-ifa-hilo-astroday-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/manoa-ifa-hilo-astroday.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Families can visit stores with AstroDay posters to receive the kits. No purchase is required.<\/p>\n<p>On April 30, winners from the AstroDay Coin Contest, a student design competition launched earlier in the year, will be announced online.
