University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa’s College of Education<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In summer of 2012, the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa College of Education<\/a> submitted 14 program reports to the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education<\/a> (NCATE<\/abbr>) Specialty Professional Associations. As of February 1, 2013, all 14 programs achieved a new seven-year period of national recognition.<\/p>\n

“These national recognitions are essential to our ongoing accreditation review,” said College of Education<\/a> Associate Dean Beth Pateman<\/strong>. “I want to recognize our faculty’s commitment to the continuous assessment and improvement of our teacher education programs. I also want to thank Jessica Miranda<\/strong>, our assessment coordinator; Wenwei Han<\/strong>, our data analyst; and Genta Togashi<\/strong>, who created the online Student Information System we use to manage our assessment data. Our college has a great team!”<\/p>\n

The college will submit four reports to the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Teachers Standards Board and four additional reports to NCATE<\/abbr> for ongoing approval this spring and one in the fall. Five advanced program reports will be submitted in the summer. In spring 2014, NCATE<\/abbr> will conduct an onsite visit following a review of the college’s comprehensive online Institutional Report, which will include all of the individual program achievements.<\/p>\n
