The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.outreach.hawaii.edu\/scep\">Statewide Cultural Extension Program<\/a> (<abbr>SCEP<\/abbr>), a program of <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outreach.hawaii.edu\/\">Outreach College<\/a>, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. In commemoration, a new project: <abbr>SCEP<\/abbr> Live Online Story Share, will be streamed online on Friday, April 23, at 7 p.m. <\/p>\n<p>Since 1971, the program has brought culture and arts programs to communities throughout <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>. A call for stories about <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa was put out to the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> community in March, and the following individuals will share their stories live from the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Orvis Auditorium on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCqF5FnCbOskI-z6ySU443AQ\"><abbr>SCEP<\/abbr> Live Online YouTube channel<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/hilo-broadcast-microphone-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Broadcast microphone\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-136830\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/hilo-broadcast-microphone-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/hilo-broadcast-microphone-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/hilo-broadcast-microphone.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dave Del Rocco<\/strong>, <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa graduate in Hawaiian languages, former <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> State Public Library System (<abbr>HSPLS<\/abbr>) librarian, and currently a Hawaiian culture and social studies teacher at Punahou School<\/li>\n<li><strong>Michael Jones<\/strong>, retired associate researcher and professor, <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Department of Physics and Astronomy <\/li>\n<li><strong>Emma McGuire<\/strong>, Â鶹´«Ã½M\u0101noa alumna, former <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Hawaiian language teacher; currently, Hawaiian language faculty at Punahou School <\/li>\n<li><strong>Neal Milner<\/strong>, retired political sciences professor and former <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa ombudsman <\/li>\n<li><strong>Sri Tencate<\/strong>, <abbr>UH<\/abbr> alumna and retired <abbr>HSPLS<\/abbr> librarian and branch manager, <span aria-label=\"Molokai\">Moloka&#699;i<\/span> Public Library <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Register at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outreach.hawaii.edu\/artists\/\">Outreach College<\/a> for the direct link to the performance.<\/p>\n<p>Storyteller and former <a href=\"https:\/\/windward.hawaii.edu\/\">Windward Community College<\/a> theatre professor <strong>Ben Moffat<\/strong> will serve as the evening\u2019s master of ceremonies. The Story Share Band adds a musical component to the evening with musicians <strong>Bailey Matsuda<\/strong>, <strong>Alex Morrison<\/strong> and Chris Yeh.<\/p>\n<h2>Seeking community stories<\/h2>\n<p><abbr>SCEP<\/abbr> Live Online Story Share is also seeking stories from individuals in the community. Story proposals from the community based on a memory of life in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> should be submitted by April 30, 2021.
