Among other priorities, the committee is working to develop a basic needs master plan to guide future planning decisions for the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> System.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Related <em><abbr>UH<\/abbr> News<\/em>:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2020\/12\/08\/food-insecurity-uhsbnc\/\">Committee on basic student needs building clearinghouse of resources<\/a>, December 8, 2020<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Student Basic Needs site includes resources for administrators to help target basic needs insecurity among students. To increase basic needs security in the student population, permanent hyperlinks will be added to the footer of every Laulima page, and <abbr>UH<\/abbr> faculty members are encouraged to alert students to this resource and include the following &ldquo;Basic Needs Statement&rdquo; in course syllabi:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic needs include food and housing, childcare, mental health, financial resources and transportation, among others.
