Hamilton Library<\/a> at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa<\/a> presents two new exhibits that will run through May 18, 2013.<\/p>\n

The Harry Potter exhibit at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa Hamilton Library explores the background behind the successful series<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Harry Potter’s World<\/h2>\n

The magical world of Harry Potter, with all its potions, magic wands and mystical creatures graces Hamilton Library this semester. Harry Potter’s World: Renaissance Science, Magic and Medicine<\/em><\/a> links the medieval perspective and practices of medicine at Hogwarts with the Medieval and Renaissance alchemists and scientists who inspired the potions, monsters, magical beats and creatures in J.K. Rowling’s books. A hidden spell in the exhibit is the key to opening an egg in the library.<\/p>\n

Lineage: A Family Tree of Printmakers<\/h2>\n

Lineage<\/em><\/a>, a new exhibition curated by Erika Molyneux and sponsored by the Honolulu Printmakers showcases artists who have made significant contributions to the strong printmaking tradition of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>. The exhibition is a genealogy chart or family tree of printmakers, emphasizing the relationships connecting various generations of artists.<\/p>\n

Print artists in the exhibition are recognized for either their teaching, scholarship of printmaking tradition, the construction of community-access studios, facilitation of visiting artists, financial support of other printmakers and printmaking activities, or the creation of culturally significant and widely influential artworks.<\/p>\n

Molyneux conceived, researched and curated this important exhibition. She teaches traditional and digital arts at Sacred Hearts Academy. She exhibits her own work locally and has received awards from The Honolulu Printmakers, The Digital Artists’ Society of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, and The Honolulu Museum of Arts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
