University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa William S. Richardson School of Law<\/a> Dean Camille Nelson<\/strong> will join a panel discussing civil liberties during the COVID-19<\/abbr> pandemic. The panel is scheduled on Thursday, December 10, from noon to 1:30 p.m. (HST<\/abbr>) via Zoom. Participants can register online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The panel—“Civil Liberties, Judicial Administration and COVID-19<\/abbr>”—will be moderated by Mark Bennett, Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.<\/p>\n

Presented by the American Judicature Society as its 2020 annual program, the panel will also feature Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald, and former U.S. Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal.<\/p>\n

Katyal will be the primary speaker, and Recktenwald and Nelson will be respondent panelists.<\/p>\n

Katyal served as acting solicitor general under former President Barack Obama. He is now a partner at the Hogan Lovells Washington D.C. office and the Paul and Patricia Saunders Professor of National Security Law at Georgetown University Law Center.<\/p>\n
