The next film in the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo<\/a> Global Lens international film series is Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry<\/em>. The film will be shown on Tuesday, January 29, 7 p.m. in the University Classroom Building Room 127.<\/p>\n

The film is about Ai Weiwei, China’s most famous international artist, and its most outspoken domestic critic. It is the inside story of “a dissident for the digital age” who inspires global audiences and blurs the boundaries of art and politics. Against a backdrop of strict censorship and an unresponsive legal system, Ai expresses himself and organizes people through art and social media.<\/p>\n

The film won numerous awards, including the Winner of the Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Prize in 2012 and the National Board of Review’s 2012 Top 5 Documentaries.<\/p>\n

The Global Lens Film Series<\/a> will continue on February 26, featuring Whiskey<\/em>, followed by Cinema, Aspirins, Vultures<\/em> on March 19 and The Kite<\/em> on April 16.<\/p>\n
