The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa<\/a> received high marks in several subject areas in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject<\/a> released on October 28.<\/p>\n

Out of approximately 26,000 worldwide universities, UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa placed in the top 1% in physical sciences (101–125 tier), arts and humanities (126–150), social sciences (151–175), education (201–250) and life sciences (201–250).<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa was also among the world\u2019s best in business and economics (301–400), clinical and health (301–400), psychology (301–400), engineering (401–500) and computer science (501–600).<\/p>\n

Times Higher Education evaluates several factors for its rankings, including teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income. Regarded as one of the leading national and international university rankings focused on research and academic excellence, Times Higher Education considered more than 1,500 universities of the more than 26,000 institutions worldwide to be eligible for its World University Rankings by subject.<\/p>\n

“The value of higher education to create a sustainable and resilient future for Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> has never been more evident than at present,” UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Provost Michael Bruno<\/strong> said. “Our standing among the top universities in the world in multiple disciplines is another example of the excellence demonstrated by our students, faculty and staff.”<\/p>\n
