Dubbed a homeschool edition of the <abbr>HDFS<\/abbr>\u2019 Home Garden Network (<abbr>HGN<\/abbr>), the videos use activities&#8212;conducted by parents&#8212;that teach and demonstrate to their keiki the basic concept and understanding of seeds.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=h2ycxAE4_hc\">Watch the first lesson on YouTube<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Since most parents need simple guidance to teach their kids, <abbr>HDFS<\/abbr> interns <strong>Tiana Brennan<\/strong> and <strong>Jarett Shiu<\/strong> have incorporated helpful print and online tools aimed at adults.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;<abbr>HDFS<\/abbr> faculty <strong>Lynn Yamashita<\/strong> has worked tirelessly to locate intern placement, and our interns have been so helpful, competent and passionate in our home gardening activities,&rdquo; said Assistant Professor <strong>Sothy Eng<\/strong>. &ldquo;I am so fortunate to be able to work with and learn from the interns, their strengths and expertise in family and community development in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><abbr>HGN<\/abbr> started in fall 2018 with four <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> families and has since expanded. The network was developed to inspire and educate <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> families to start their own edible home gardens.
