The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo<\/a> women student-athletes are keeping active, especially within their community.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, September 19, the women\u2019s soccer team helped pick 200 pounds of coffee beans at O.K.<\/abbr> Farms<\/a> in Hilo. Coffee beans that the Vulcans harvested will be milled and roasted at Trust’s Kaʻū<\/span> Coffee Mill Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>.<\/p>\n

While the soccer team was at O.K.<\/abbr> Farms, the women’s tennis team cooked and served breakfast of pancakes, sausages, spam, eggs and apples at the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Island Home for Recovery<\/a>, a facility that provides safe housing for people in need who desire to live free of alcohol and illegal substances. The effort was coordinated in part by the Rotary Club of Hilo as one of its many community service projects.<\/p>\n
