Leadership and others from the <a href=\"https:\/\/hilo.hawaii.edu\/\">University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo<\/a> <span aria-label=\"ohana\">&#699;ohana<\/span> took part to help spread the message.<\/p>\n<p>The &#35;ourkuleana campaign\u2019s signature black and white selfies of people wearing their face masks are seen throughout the hashtag on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hashtag\/ourkuleana\">Facebook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/explore\/tags\/ourkuleana\/\">Instagram<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ourkuleana\">Twitter<\/a> with the intention of normalizing the wearing of face coverings. The nonprofit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.communityfirsthawaii.org\/\">Community First<\/a> helped kick start the campaign and the <a href=\"https:\/\/ourkuleanahawaii.com\/\">Our Kuleana<\/a> community initiative to foster a social norm of wearing face masks.<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> Hilo Chancellor <strong>Bonnie Irwin<\/strong> and the three <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Hilo vice chancellors <strong>Farrah-Marie Gomes<\/strong>, <strong>Kris Roney<\/strong> and <strong>Kalei Rapoza<\/strong> participated, posting their selfies to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/uhhilo\"><abbr>UH<\/abbr> Hilo\u2019s Facebook page<\/a> with the message: &ldquo;It\u2019s &#35;ourkuleana to keep each other safe! Reasonable accommodations will be made in those instances. Children under the age of five are not required to wear face masks.<\/p>\n<p>N95, N99 and N100 masks are not allowed as they should be reserved for healthcare professionals.
