The Intergalactic Nemesis Live-Action Graphic Novel Book One: Target Earth will be at UH<\/abbr> Hilo on January 11 and at UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa on January 12, 2013<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Intergalactic Nemesis Live-Action Graphic Novel Book One: Target Earth<\/em> will show on Friday, January 11, 7:30 p.m. at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo Performing Arts Center<\/a> and on Saturday, January 12, 7:30 p.m. at UH<\/abbr> Māno’s Kennedy Theatre<\/a>. The Intergalactic Nemesis Live-Action Graphic Novel<\/em> is a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience that mashes up radio drama with comic-books.<\/p>\n

The premise for this unique all-ages show is simple—a period adventure story featuring Pulitzer-winning reporter Molly Sloan, her intrepid assistant Timmy Mendez and a mysterious librarian named Ben Wilcott as they face the most serious threat Earth has ever known—an impending invasion of sludge monsters from the planet Zygon.<\/p>\n

The telling is what makes the experience of The Intergalactic Nemesis<\/em> so incredibly unique—while three actors, one Foley artist and one keyboardist perform all the voices, sound effects and music, more than 1,000 hand-drawn, full-color, high-resolution, blow-your-mind comic-book images blast from the screen, all performed live.<\/p>\n

“In 20 years of directing and producing plays, I’ve never seen an audience respond so positively,” said project creator Jason Neulander.<\/p>\n

The Intergalactic Nemesis Live-Action Graphic Novel<\/em>, which premiered in 2010 to more than 2,100 people, will hit 24 venues around the country.<\/p>\n
