The ensemble released its &ldquo;Virtual Band&rdquo; project on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jVM3HWEwsdE\">YouTube<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/University-of-Hawaii-Bands-95652069457\/\">Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uhbands.org\/\"><abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> Bands program<\/a>, the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Wind Ensemble has not been able to meet or rehearse in person since instruction at the campus moved online in March.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We really miss rehearsing and making music together,&rdquo; said <strong>Jeffrey Boeckman<\/strong>, director of bands and associate professor of music. &ldquo;This &lsquo;Virtual Band&rsquo; project was a way for us to stay connected and hopefully share a little aloha through our music.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>For the project, the students chose Queen <span aria-label=\"Liliuokalani\u2019s\">Lili&#699;uokalani\u2019s<\/span> <em>Aloha <span aria-label=\"Oe\">&#699;Oe<\/span><\/em>, recording their parts separately at home. <strong>Malcolm Mekaru<\/strong>, sustainability data and communications specialist with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/sustainability\/\"><abbr>UH<\/abbr> Office of Sustainability<\/a>, volunteered to merge and edit all the videos together.
