The campus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2020\/02\/27\/honolulu-cc-100th-anniversary\/\">kicked off the celebration with a party in February<\/a>, with ice cream, cupcakes and more.<\/p>\n<p>Honolulu <abbr title=\"Community College\">CC<\/abbr> has been recognized for its apprenticeship and other career and technical programs, Hawaiian studies center and commitment to sustainability. The school started in 1920 with 42 students in the old Chinese Hospital building in P\u0101lama.<\/p>\n<p>Interim Chancellor <strong>Karen Lee<\/strong> said, &ldquo;If I had to pick one thing about why Honolulu Community College is a draw for students, I would say it\u2019s our sense of <span aria-label=\"ohana\">&#699;ohana<\/span>. Our students here love being here.
