Even with current social distancing restrictions, the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa Wind Ensemble<\/a> is safely sharing music. The ensemble released videos of their performance of the Symphony of the Hawaiian Birds paired with animations from the project on YouTube<\/a> and Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“We were so looking forward to sharing our Symphony of the Hawaiian Birds, the wonderful people in our UH<\/abbr> Wind Ensemble and a little aloha spirit with the wider musical world,” said Jeffrey Boeckman<\/strong>, associate professor and director of bands.<\/p>\n

The Symphony of the Hawaiian Birds<\/a> is a multidisciplinary effort to educate elementary and secondary students about Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s endangered native bird species and the importance of conservation efforts. UH<\/abbr> composers, conservation researchers, educators and animators worked together to create a program that was originally performed by the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Symphony Orchestra for Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> elementary, intermediate and high school students.<\/p>\n
