The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa Department of Dental Hygiene<\/a> has donated much-needed personal protective equipment (PPE<\/abbr>) to The Queen\u2019s Medical Center for the care of COVID-19 patients. The donated items included cone masks, earloop masks, gloves, gowns and bouffant caps.<\/p>\n

“Donating PPE<\/abbr> to our frontline healthcare providers is just a small way that we can play a role in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Kristine Osada,<\/strong> dental hygiene program administrator and instructor. ““We encourage anyone with excess PPE<\/abbr> to donate it. Â鶹´«Ã½Mānoa dental hygiene wants to thank all of our medical providers responding to this crisis.”<\/p>\n

The Queen\u2019s Dental Clinic has been affiliated with the UH<\/abbr> Mānoa dental hygiene program and its students for more than 25 years. As the only baccalaureate-level program in the state, students receive valuable hospital dentistry experience by assisting and observing dentists, dental residents and dental hygienists in the clinic.<\/p>\n
