She is urging students to blow kisses from afar when they greet friends and family. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We don\u2019t want to change who we are as Hawaiians. We want to have aloha especially for our family but right now even for my grandchildren I can\u2019t hug them because we all may be infected without knowing it yet,&rdquo; <span aria-label=\"Kameeleihiwa\">Kame&#699;eleihiwa<\/span> said.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhfoundation.org\/give\/giving-opportunity\/covid-19\">Support the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Student Relief fund and COVID-19 research<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The kapu or restriction is being suggested as another line of defense in the fight to prevent the spread of the virus. <span aria-label=\"Kameeleihiwa\">Kame&#699;eleihiwa<\/span> suggests that people greet one another from a distance. Kumu (teachers) at <span aria-label=\"Hawaiinuiakea\">Â鶹´«Ã½nui&#257;kea<\/span> are teaching students to practice Kapu Ola Aloha as a way to protect themselves, <span aria-label=\"ohana\">&#699;ohana<\/span> and the community.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It\u2019s really difficult not to hug and kiss.
