Burns School of Medicine<\/a> students <strong>Kristin King<\/strong> and <strong>Justin Grubbs<\/strong> traveled to Yap this summer as part of the school&#8217;s summer elective program known as MD5.<\/p>\n<p>The international elective program is part of the school&#8217;s global health and medicine efforts. The school is committed to training a globally competent health workforce with skills to address critical global health problems. It also strives to understand and reduce health inequalities around the Pacific Rim.<\/p>\n<p>While in Yap, King and Grubbs participated in the beginnings of the data collection for a research project to evaluate the needs and capability for cancer diagnosis and treatment.
