For the second consecutive year, the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa<\/a> swim and dive team picked up Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF<\/abbr>) championships for both the men’s<\/a> and women’s<\/a> teams on February 22, the final day of action.<\/p>\n

The championship for the women marks the program’s fourth consecutive title dating back to 2017, while the men\u2019s team earned back-to-back titles. This year, the women finished with a 20-point lead and final score of 726, while the men carried an 80-point lead and finished with 895.50 points.<\/p>\n

The 2020 MPSF<\/abbr> championships featured several events, including the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 1650 free, 400 free relay, the men’s platform dive and the women’s platform dive.<\/p>\n

On the final day, the ‘Bows captured nine MPSF<\/abbr> championships. In all, UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa collected 22 championships, including 17 in singles competition and five in relays.<\/p>\n

“From the start of the season, we knew it would take each student-athlete’s best effort to win this championship, and that’s what we got,” said Head Coach Elliot Ptasnik<\/strong>. “Thank you to our Athletic Department, advisors, trainers, coaches, alumni, fans, friends and family for your endless support. We wouldn’t be here without you.”<\/p>\n

Both Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> teams earned first place titles during every day of the MPSF<\/abbr> championships. Of the 22 titles won altogether, the women’s team captured 11 individual titles, compared to the men’s six.<\/p>\n
