The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> football team defeated Brigham Young University (BYU<\/abbr>) on Christmas Eve at the SoFi Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Bowl at Aloha Stadium 38-34.<\/p>\n

This is the fifth Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Bowl title for the Rainbow Warriors, raising their bowl record to 7-6 all time. UH<\/abbr> and BYU have met 31 previous times. Tuesday\u2019s win gives Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> its seventh 10-win season and the first since 2010. <\/p>\n

Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> quarterback Cole McDonald delivered five touchdowns and the defense provided four turnovers in the come-from-behind win. The game brought UH<\/abbr>\u2019s triple threat of wide receivers all past 1,000 receiving yards. Jared Smart<\/strong>, Cedric Byrd<\/strong> and JoJo Ward<\/strong> have proved to be major offensive weapons.<\/p>\n

This is Head Coach Nick Rolovich\u2019s<\/strong> fourth season leading his alma mater. The team had its most productive this year under his leadership with victories against two PAC-12 teams and earning the Mountain West Conference West title.<\/p>\n
