(<abbr>RTI<\/abbr>). This partnership allows the <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> System to connect <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> to the continental <abbr title=\"United States\">U.S.<\/abbr>, Guam and beyond through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.submarinenetworks.com\/en\">the <abbr>SEA-US<\/abbr> submarine fiber cable system<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><abbr>UH<\/abbr>, together with <abbr>RTI<\/abbr> and other regional research and educational partners in the Pacific region, are working to expand their network with the soon-to-be-completed new submarine fiber optic cable system called <abbr>JGA<\/abbr> (Japan-Guam-Australia) that increases the number of systems using Guam as a hub for high capacity connections in the western Pacific region.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Many of these islands are hundreds or thousands of miles away from another land mass,&rdquo; said <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Vice President for Information Technology and <abbr title=\"Chief Information Officer\">CIO<\/abbr> <strong>Garret T.
