The search has officially begun to find the next director for the Institute for Astronomy<\/a> at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The Search Advisory Committee was previously announced<\/a>, and now the official job announcement has been posted at the search website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Randall Holcombe<\/strong>, director of the UH<\/abbr> Cancer Center, and Newton Chu, director, Torkildson, Katz, Hetherington, Harris and Knorek (Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Island office), are chairing the search advisory committee, whose members include chairs, faculty, staff and students from several UH<\/abbr> Mānoa units, as well as representatives from the Kualiʻi<\/span> Council, alumni and the community.<\/p>\n

The committee will recommend finalists to UH<\/abbr> Mānoa Provost Michael Bruno<\/strong>, who then will recommend an appointee to Â鶹´«Ã½President David Lassner<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Review of applications is expected to begin in late January 2020 and will continue until the position is filled. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
