The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> SACNAS<\/abbr> (Society for Advancement of Chicanos\/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science) Advisory Committee announced an opportunity for UH<\/abbr> system students to attend the 2019 SACNAS<\/abbr>—The National Diversity in STEM<\/abbr> (science, technology, engineering and math) conference for free (a $425 value), scheduled from October 31 to November 2, 2019, at the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Convention Center. <\/p>\n

Pacific Biosciences Research Center Associate Specialist Healani Chang<\/strong>, a SACNAS<\/abbr> board member, said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for our UH<\/abbr> students to expand their graduate and post-graduate opportunities, as they engage with some of the top STEM<\/abbr> professionals from around the nation. We encourage all interested UH<\/abbr> undergraduate and graduate students to apply.” <\/p>\n

Limited free registrations<\/a> are available. Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Wednesday October 9, 2019, for consideration.<\/p>\n

Awardees of this free registration opportunity may be asked to volunteer for a three-hour shift during the conference.<\/p>\n
