Storytelling takes on a new persona through modern technology. The podcast It’s Lit, hosted by Anjoli Roy and Jocelyn Ng, creates an open space for authors and artists to share their work and for audiences to tune in wherever, whenever. The roots of this podcast, along with Keao Nesmith who translates great works of literature in ʻōlelo 鶹ý and a modern twist in plays at the Hawaiian Theatre for Youth are featured in the fall 2019 issue of the .

The issue also features Hawaiian cultural practitioner and social entrepreneur Mahina Paishon-Duarte and how she exudes the Hawaiian culture, and the Lau family of athletes ranging from wave riders to soccer players.

An autonomous drone roves the seas for months at a time, collecting real-time data in research begun at the University of 鶹ý in the 1980s.
