The photovoltaic canopy project is expected to save the university between $2 million to $8 million over its lifetime, depending on future energy costs.
The certificate recognizes the importance of sustainability to ±á²¹·É²¹¾±ʻ¾±¡¯²õ future and strong student interest in the subject.
UH West Oʻahu Professor Esther Widiasih has been granted $116,381 to study traditional Native Hawaiian sustainability.
Six proposed bicycle stations will be available at various locations on campus starting in August and September.
Part of the grant will fund the design and build of a prototype Accessory Dwelling Unit, through a partnership involving the UH Albizia Project, DLNR and the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Forest Industry Association.
