Rainbow Wahine softball players earn academic honors

Five members of the UH 惭ā苍辞补 softball team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

Makena Ginoza has been awarded a $10,000 NCAA scholarship, recognizing his academic excellence, athletic achievements and leadership.

Mason Cook was named to the All-PacWest Conference Third Team.

Rainbow athletics earned its highest score in Academic Performance Rate.

The Jack Bonham Award was presented to Lily Wahinekapu (women’s basketball), Jordan Wedderburn (women’s water polo) and Brayden Schager (football).

Ana Vilcek, Nikola Homolkova, Peppi Ramstedt and Sheena Masuda earned All-Big West honors.

Rainbow Warriors Quinn Snyder and Azuma Visaya were voted to the All-Big West Conference first team in doubles and second team honors in singles.

UH 惭ā苍辞补 BeachBows Alana Embry, Sarah Burton, Caprice Lorenzo, Julia Lawrenz and Jasmine Wandeler receive All-Big West honors.

The Rainbow Wahine will make the program’s eight appearance in the NCAA tournament.

UH clinched its spot in the nine-team national tournament with a four-set victory over Long Beach State in the Big West Championship final.
