Every March, UH Mānoa and UH Hilo students are invited on a 3-day retreat on Kahoʻolawe and tasked with only speaking Hawaiian.
The Regents¡¯ Medal for Excellence in Research is awarded in recognition of scholarly contributions that expand the boundaries of knowledge and enrich the lives of students and the community.
The events were held to celebrate 100 years of musical excellence in the UH band program.
The awardees are Gerald (Jerry) K. Santos, Fred Kalani Meinecke and Michael D. Nakasone.
