UH ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹¡¯s College of Engineering is a partner in the project, responsible for collecting and analyzing data for HDOT as it begins to add autonomous and electric vehicles to its fleet.
In alignment with the NSF CAREER program¡¯s commitment to integrating research with education, this project also includes a robust outreach and education component.
The course supports the College of Engineering¡¯s efforts to complement its engineering curriculum with applied engineering opportunities.
W¨¡hine Connect has integrated a service component to the program, assisting students at local high schools.
Brialyn Onodera is a mechanical engineer for the National Solar Observatory at the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope atop Haleakal¨¡.
The initiative could eventually be eligible for another NSF award of up to $160 million.
By incorporating various sensors, the sweatainer can analyze sweat in a mode similar to previous wearable sweat-sensing systems.
All proceeds help to support projects during the upcoming academic year.
