Education innovations earn awards for UH 惭ā苍辞补 faculty

The Innovation and Impact Showcase celebrates UH Mānoa faculty members’ innovative and high-impact teaching practices.

The ceremony was held in the council chambers on December 6.

The students presented their final projects to the community at a 丑ōʻ颈办别 event on December 2.

Written and directed by UH Mānoa alumnus Ākea Kahikina, Hoʻoilina explores real-time issues such as what it takes to be considered Hawaiian.

The group visited Lahainaluna High School, Baldwin High School and Maui Waena Middle School.

Craig Santos Perez’ book was one of 10 finalists in the running for the 2023 National Book Award for Poetry.

The program offers a series of select excursions to various sites around Oʻahu or on campus each month of the academic year.

The award-winning Hawaiian Theatre program brought in guest artists from Aotearoa (New Zealand) to help students compose songs.

Nippon Culture Day features educational workshops to spotlight a diverse selection of traditional and contemporary elements of Japanese culture.

In total, 14 subjects placed in the world's top 1%.
