5 UH Mānoa tennis student-athletes earn national academic recognition

All Academic All-District honorees are eligible for consideration for the CSC Academic All-America teams.

The awardees are Isaiah Magdaleno, Tsubasa Tomii, Hekili Robello, Tate Shimao and Ben Zeigler-Namoa.

Dane Watanabe led the team with a 72.97 scoring average and wrapped up the season with a career-low 5-under 211 at the Big West Championship.

The junior delivered his second complete-game, one-hit shutout in his last three starts, propelling the Rainbow Warriors to a 4-0 victory over CSUN.

Former Rainbow Wahine basketball coach Laura Beeman will continue serving as associate athletics director for student-athlete success.

Jamie McGaughey and Taryn Irimata were named to the 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I All-West Region teams.

Jaime Paquet earned the recognition for the second straight year alongside first-time honorees Iori Furuhata and Victoria Ricaurte-Cabas.

The group included repeat honorees Amanda Turner and Erik Anderson, while four Rainbow Warriors earned the recognition for the first time.

The four set victory marks the Rainbow Warriors’ third national championship in program history, all in the past five years.

UH 惭ā苍辞补’s Ofeck Hazan was recognized with the award for holding the highest cumulative GPA in the men’s volleyball NCAA Championship.
