MEDIA ADVISORY: State, 鶹ýlaunch critical Quality of Life Survey; resident participation essential

WHAT: The State of Hawaiʻi and the University of Hawaiʻi will launch a statewide Quality of Life Survey, inviting residents ages 18 and older to share feedback on issues such as health and well-being, housing, transportation, work, education and access to services. Findings will be compiled into public dashboards and reports to inform policymakers, agencies and community partners.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 4 at 10 a.m.

  • Tia Hartsock, director of the Hawaiʻi Office of Wellness and Resilience
  • Jack Barile, 鶹ýMānoa College of Social Sciences associate dean for research and project principal investigator

MORE INFORMATION:

  • The press conference will kick off the survey.
  • Hartsock and Barile will provide an overview of the survey and take questions.
  • The anonymous survey takes approximately 10–20 minutes to complete and will remain open through the end of March.
  • The 2026 effort builds on the inaugural 2024 survey, which gathered responses from more than 8,000 residents statewide.
