University of Â鶹´«Ã½ at ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ pitcher Isaiah Magdaleno continued his remarkable season, earning Big West Conference Pitcher of the Week honors for the second straight week after another dominant outing on the mound.
In Â鶹´«Ã½¡¯s 4-1 win over UC Davis on May 8, Magdaleno pitched eight innings while allowing just one run on four hits and one walk.
The award marks the third time this year Magdaleno has been named Big West Pitcher of the Week, making him the first conference pitcher since 2021 to earn the honor three times in a season and the first pitcher in UH program history to accomplish the feat.
Magdaleno¡¯s latest recognition comes on the heels of a historic performance against UC Riverside on May 1, when he threw a complete-game one-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts. He carried a perfect game into the seventh inning and became just the third pitcher in Rainbow Warriors history to record 16 strikeouts in a game.
After transitioning from closer to starter this season, Magdaleno has emerged as one of the top pitchers on the West Coast. Over his last two starts, he has allowed just one run on five hits while striking out 25 batters across 17 innings. He has recorded 98 strikeouts in 80 innings this season.
