“The University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ at ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ Athletics Department has engaged in a competitive bidding process for a local media rights partnership to bring its sporting events and talented student-athletes to a broad audience. After careful consideration, Hawaii News Now has been selected as the highest rated offeror and is being awarded the first opportunity to negotiate and finalize a broadcasting rights concession agreement with UH ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹.”
The details of the arrangement are being discussed over the next few weeks. Both parties are optimistic about an outcome that will benefit UH ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹, Rainbow Warrior and Rainbow Wahine fans everywhere and Hawaii News Now. Once an agreement is reached, both parties look forward to making a joint public announcement and moving forward together in the new school year, which will commence on July 1, 2026.
This comes after the Mountain West Conference announced its media rights package with CBS Sports, Fox Sports and the CW on February 3.
