University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ at ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ men’s swimmer Karol Ostrowski set two new program records at the 2026 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships at Georgia Tech’s McAuley Aquatic Center.

Ostrowski shattered the Rainbow Warrior record in the 100-yard backstroke with a blazing time of 45.96 seconds on March 27, winning the first heat and finishing 39th overall. The mark eclipses his previous personal best of 47.06 seconds, set at last season’s Big West Championships.

On March 28, Ostrowski had another record-setting performance in the 100 meter freestyle with a swift time of 42.08, which resulted in a Heat 1 victory and 30th overall finish in the preliminaries. He improved his previous best time of 42.31¡ªset at last year’s NCAA Championships¡ªand teammate Finn Brophy’s former record of 42.26.

Ostrowski concludes his collegiate career now holding four individual school records in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, and 100 backstroke¡ªthe most in program history. He is one of the Rainbow Warriors’ most decorated swimmers of all-time.

Also representing UH ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ at the NCAA Championships were Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo and Tom Thalau.

Tamayo capped his outstanding season in the 3-meter dive, where he finished 43rd with a preliminary score of 296.10. His top dive of the day¡ªa forward 3 ? somersault¡ªearned a score of 65.10.

Thalau made his NCAA Division I Championships debut, placing 32nd in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:45.38. His qualifying time of 1:43.93 and his NCAA performance stand as the two fastest marks in the Big West this season.
