For the second straight meet a Â鶹´«Ã½ track and field athlete earned Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Athlete of the Week honors as junior Lilian Turban took home the recognition after picking up a win in the high jump and setting a personal record in the shot put at the Husky Classic.
Turban took her place among the national leaders in the high jump after reaching a mark of 1.84m (6-0.5) in Seattle on Friday. She moved into No. 18 nationally in the indoor high jump this year while improving upon her already second-best mark in program history.
The Estonia native then set a personal best in the shot put on Saturday with a toss of 13.29m (43-7.25), coming in sixth place.
She joins teammate Alyssa Mae Antolin as Rainbow Wahine athletes who have taken home the weekly honor this year. It¡¯s the first time that Turban has earned MPSF Athlete of the Week honors and the fifth time in her career that she¡¯s gotten a conference weekly honor, with four Big West Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week awards.
