University of Â鶹´«Ã½ ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ senior Timothy Gallagher qualified for the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in the 200 meter backstroke November 15 at the SMU Invitational Long Course Time Trials, swimming a 2:01.31.
Gallagher came in .38 seconds under the Olympic standard of 2:01.69, and will have a chance to swim for a spot in the 2024 Olympic Games at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Indianapolis next summer.
Kathryn Ivanov swam a 1:10.12 in the women’s 100 meter breaststroke to come in well below the Canadian Olympic trial standard of 1:13.10. Ivanov had already qualified for the Canadian trials in the event over the summer.
