The University of Â鶹´«Ã½ is making it easier for Class of 2021 Â鶹´«Ã½ public high school seniors to apply for admission next fall. The seeks to eliminate barriers that prevent students from enrolling in post-secondary education by streamlining the application process for Â鶹´«Ã½ State Department of Education high school seniors to UH¡¯s four-year campuses.
Based on each students¡¯ GPA, will offer a conditional letter of acceptance to their campus, while and will offer special invitations to apply. All campuses will offer a Fast Pass admission process for these students that includes expedited processing of applications and an application fee waiver for those with financial need.
“We want students who are academically prepared to know how welcome they are at our four-year universities,” said UH President David Lassner. “Higher education is even more crucial to a thriving citizenry during times of recessions, and you can¡¯t beat the opportunities across the University of Â鶹´«Ã½ System and the extraordinary range of affordable higher education programs we offer right here at home.”
Eligible students will receive letters from the various UH campuses starting in October outlining the Fast Pass program and the application process. Students may receive multiple letters depending on their GPA.
- UH ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹: 3.5 GPA – invitation to apply
- UH West O?ahu: 2.70 GPA – invitation to apply
- UH Hilo: 2.70 GPA – conditional offer of acceptance
in partnership with UH is also hosting free to these campuses for students and families in October and November to help them through the college application process.
“These events are a collaboration with our 10 UH campuses to support our seniors who are still learning at home as they plan for college and a career,” said Â鶹´«Ã½ P–20 Executive Director Stephen Schatz. “We need to continue encouraging our young people to engage in postsecondary education to not only better themselves, but to contribute to our state as well.”
