
While traditional commencement ceremonies are postponed for spring 2020, the University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ at ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ is encouraging spring and summer graduating students to send in recorded messages for the traditional Mahalo Messages video. will compile the messages and produce a final version to be shared in May via social media and the .
Students interested in recording a message should follow these guidelines:

- The message should be no longer than 15 seconds. Recording time may be longer, but the actual spoken message should be a maximum of 15 seconds.
- Record the message using a mobile phone in landscape mode (i.e. holding the phone sideways, horizontal or widescreen when taking the video for quality consistency).
- Record the message in an area where the light is on your face. The sun or a glare from lights behind you will create shadows and a dark recording.
- If any part of the message is in another language, please include the translation on the Google form and/or in the email when submitting the video.
- Messages need to be submitted to uhpgm@hawaii.edu by Friday, April 17.
UH ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ is committed to finding a way to honor and celebrate the spring and summer 2020 graduating students¡¯ achievements and will make an announcement once a decision has been made regarding the ceremonies. A traditional commencement program will be produced for graduating students to commemorate their graduation, even if they do not attend a ceremony.
