Are you prepared for an emergency like a fire or a natural disaster? Find answers on what to do in a crisis as the University of Â鶹´«Ã½ at ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹¡¯s hosts its first on Thursday, February 1, 6–8 p.m. at the Hale Aloha Courtyard.

The fair will offer guidance to the campus community on personal safety and wellness, as well natural disaster preparation and fire safety. There will be educational activities, games, food and giveaways, as well as a sprinkler demonstration at 6:45 and 7:15 p.m. UH housing residents are eligible to win prizes including a $50 UH Bookstore gift card.

“We hope that through this fair, students will leave empowered with useful information and feel more prepared in the event an emergency arises, knowing, for example, when to seek shelter, when to evacuate and where to go,” said David Akana, associate director of Student Housing Services/.

“The concept for the fair was developed through a strategic plan initiative to help students have a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities during crisis situations,” said Susan Hua, residence director.

Campus and community partners that will provide information at the fair include UH ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ Department of Public Safety, UH Fire Safety Office, UH ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹¡¯s Counseling and Student Development Center, PAU Violence, Honolulu Police Department, Honolulu Fire Department, Sodexo, Coca Cola, Red Cross, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Â鶹´«Ã½ Emergency Management Agency.
